Fungison is indicated for

  • Steroid-responsive inflammatory dermatoses
  • Tinea pedis
  • Tinea cruris
  • Tinea corporis
  • Pityriasis versicolor
  • Cutaneous candidiasis
  • Onychomycoses

Precautions and warnings

Only a few cases of hypersensitivity to the active component have been reported. If this happens, the product should be stopped being used. During treatment, the affected region should be kept clean and dry.

Side-effects

Drug Interactions

Econazole Oral anticoagulants like warfarin and acenocoumarol, which are metabolized by CYP3A4/2C9, have theoretical potential.

Triamcinolone reduces the amount of salicylates in the blood. NSAIDs increase the risk of gastrointestinal bleeding and ulcers. Antagonized the antidiabetic's blood glucose-lowering effects. Amphotericin B, agonists, blockers, potassium-depleting diuretics, and theophylline all increase the risk of hyperkalemia. With ciclosporin, carbamazepine, phenytoin, barbiturate, and rifampicin, triamcinolone clearance is increased. If live vaccinations are given, infections may arise.

Contraindications

It should not be used to treat tuberculous lesions or viral skin disorders such as herpes, vaccinia, varicella.

Mode of actions

In fungi, econazole alters the permeability of the cell wall membrane, which may interfere with RNA and protein production, as well as lipid metabolism.

Triamcinolone is primarily a glucocorticoid. It inhibits polymorphonuclear leukocyte movement and lowers capillary permeability, reducing inflammation.

Dosage & Administration

For topical administration only.Adults: Apply twice daily to the affected area and rub on the skin gently with the finger. Continue the applications for 14 days or as directed by the doctor.Children: Suitable for topical application to children.

Pregnancy & Lactation

Although animal reproduction studies have shown an adverse effect on the fetus and there are no adequate and well-controlled studies in pregnant women, but during pregnancy, this medicine can be used just when definitely required despite potential risks.

Mothers with a newborn baby who have used this drug during the last 3 months of pregnancy may seldom create symptoms including drowsiness, muscle stiffness or shakiness, feeding or breathing troubles, constant crying. If you notice any of these symptoms of your baby's particularly during their first month, tell the doctor immediately.

This medicine passes into breast milk. Talk to your doctor before breastfeeding.
