Sugar may be present in liquid items. If you have diabetes, you should exercise caution. Consult your doctor or pharmacist for advice on how to use this medicine safely.
Tell your doctor or dentist about all of the things you use, including prescription drugs, nonprescription drugs, and herbal products, before undergoing surgery.
Describe your doctor or pharmacist if you're taking any other drowsy medications, such as codeine, hydrocodone, alcohol, cannabis, sleep, or anxiety medications like alprazolam, lorazepam, zolpidem, muscle relaxants like carisoprodol, cyclobenzaprine, or other antihistamines like chlorpheniramine, diphenhydramine.
Other antihistamines applied to the skin, such as diphenhydramine cream, ointment, or spray, should be avoided because they may produce more side effects.
Cetirizine is quite similar to levocetirizine and hydroxyzine. When taking cetirizine, avoid taking these drugs.
Certain laboratory tests, such as allergy skin testing, may be affected by this medicine, potentially leading to erroneous test findings. Make sure your laboratory personnel and all of your doctors are aware that you are taking this medication.

Cetirizine is a potent and highly selective antagonist of the peripheral histamine H1-receptor on effector cells in the GI tract, blood vessels, and resp tract.
Tablet:
Oral
Allergic conditions
Adult: 10 mg once daily or 5 mg bid.
Child: 6-23 mth 2.5 mg once daily increased to max of 2.5 mg bid in childn >12 mth; 2-5 yr 5 mg once daily or in 2 divided doses; >6 yr 10 mg once daily or in 2 divided doses.
Elderly: Initially, 5 mg once daily.
Hepatic impairment: Initially, 5 mg once daily.
Syrup:
Adults and children over 6 years: 2 teaspoon once daily or 1 teaspoon twice daily.
Children 2-6 years: 1 teaspoonful once daily or 1/2 teaspoon twice daily.
Although animal reproduction studies have shown an adverse effect even sometimes unable to demonstrate the risk on the fetus and there are no adequate and well-controlled studies in pregnant women, but during pregnancy, this medicine can be used just when definitely required.
