Contraindications

It is contraindicated in patients with hypersensitivity to Zinc.

Mode of actions

Zinc is a cofactor in over 100 enzymes, has a role in DNA synthesis, promotes a healthy immune system, aids in the maintenance of one's sense of smell and taste, and may help insulin work properly.

Dosage & Administration

Tablet: For infants between 2 to 6 months of age: 10 mg Zinc once daily for 10-14 days. For children between 6 months to 5 years of age: 20 mg Zinc once daily for 10-14 days. For other indications The recommended dose for children is 2 to 2.5 mg/kg/day. Children under 10 kg: 10 mg Zinc 2 times daily. Children within 10 to 30 kg: 20 mg Zinc 1-3 times daily. Adults and children over 30 kg body weight: 40 mg Zinc 1-3 times daily.

Syrup: Child under 10 kg : 5 ml (1 teaspoonful) 2 times daily. Child between 10 - 30 kg : 10 ml (2 teaspoonful) 1-3 times daily. Adults and child over 30 kg : 20 ml (4 teaspoonful) 1-3 times daily.

Pregnancy & Lactation

FDA has not yet classified this medicine into a specified pregnancy category. Although there is no enough evidence that taking this medicine during you are pregnant is harmful.

Discuss with your doctor if you are trying to get pregnant while taking this medicine too.

If you do become pregnant while you are taking this medicine, you should continue to take it and contact with your doctors as quickly as possible. They can assist you to decide whether or not to keep taking this medicine. If you abandon taking this medicine and become sick, this would be more pernicious to your child than staying on the medication.


There is no specific information about whether this medicine is passed on to the baby through breast milk. During this medication, if your baby becomes very sleepy, restless, fatigued, exhibit feeding problems, stop breastfeeding and talk to your doctors very quickly.
