Precautions and warnings
In the aged, achlorhydria causes impaired calcium absorption. Hypercalcemia and hypercalciuria are more likely in hypoparathyroidism individuals who take high dosages of vitamin D. When taken in patients with a history of kidney stones, use with caution. Renal insufficiency necessitates regular monitoring of serum calcium and phosphorus levels.

Drug Interactions
When used simultaneously, they may have an effect on tetracycline absorption. Calcium absorption may be reduced if systemic corticosteroids are taken at the same time. Calcium excretion in the urine may be reduced by thiazide diuretics. Vitamin D absorption through the GI tract may be reduced when combined with ion-exchange resins. During calcium and vitamin D medication, hypercalcemia can exacerbate the toxicity of cardiac glycosides, therefore keep an eye on your ECG and blood calcium levels. At least 3 hours before calcium-containing preparations, bisphosphonate or sodium fluoride should be given.
Contraindications
Hypercalcemia and/or hypercalciuria patients. Hypophosphatemia, nephrolithiasis, and hypervitaminosis D.
Mode of actions
Calcium/vitamin D3 helps to prevent or treat calcium deficiency. It also aids in the performance of nerves and muscles, as well as regular cardiac function. A cofactor in enzymatic processes that are required for neurotransmission, muscular contraction, and a variety of signal transduction pathways. Vitamin D3 is a sterol that is fat-soluble. It is required for the maintenance and management of calcium and phosphate homeostasis, as well as bone mineralization. Vitamin D is also necessary for strong bones because it helps calcium absorption from the gastrointestinal tract. Furthermore, it promotes the production of bones. Clinical studies also show that Calcium and Vitamin amin D has synergistic effects on bone growth as well as in Osteoporosis and fracture prevention.
Dosage & Administration
Adult: PO Per tab contains Ca carbonate 1,500 mg and vitamin D3 10 mcg: 1 tab twice daily.
Pregnancy & Lactation
Although animal reproduction studies have shown an adverse effect on the fetus and there are no adequate and well-controlled studies in pregnant women, but during pregnancy, this medicine can be used just when definitely required despite potential risks.
Mothers with a newborn baby who have used this drug during the last 3 months of pregnancy may seldom create symptoms including drowsiness, muscle stiffness or shakiness, feeding or breathing troubles, constant crying. If you notice any of these symptoms of your baby's particularly during their first month, tell the doctor immediately.
This medicine passes into breast milk. Talk to your doctor before breastfeeding.
