Precautions and warnings
For use on the outside of the body only. Keep away from your eyes and other sensitive areas.
Side-effects
- An allergic reaction (shortness of breath
- closing of the throat
- swelling of the lips
- face or tongue or hives) or severe skin irritation.
Contraindications
Do not use this product if you are allergic to Salicylic Acid or any of the other ingredients listed.
Mode of actions
Salicylic acid is very effective at breaking down and softening tough, dead skin when applied to the skin. It works by increasing moisture in the outer layer of skin, which causes it to swell, soften, and eventually peel off. In high amounts, it can be harsh and cause burning. Salicylic acid also has mild ability to fight fungi and bacteria.
Dosage & Administration
Apply to affected area once daily. Hydrate area for 5 minutes prior to application if possible. Occlude the area at night. Wash off in morning. Salicylic Acid is used in children over 2 years.
Pregnancy & Lactation
Although animal reproduction studies have shown an adverse effect on the fetus and there are no adequate and well-controlled studies in pregnant women, but during pregnancy, this medicine can be used just when definitely required despite potential risks.
Mothers with a newborn baby who have used this drug during the last 3 months of pregnancy may seldom create symptoms including drowsiness, muscle stiffness or shakiness, feeding or breathing troubles, constant crying. If you notice any of these symptoms of your baby's particularly during their first month, tell the doctor immediately.
This medicine passes into breast milk. Talk to your doctor before breastfeeding.
