Using antibiotics for a long time can increase the risk of getting other fungal infections or allow bacteria that are not affected by the antibiotics to grow. If you have an eye infection, you should not wear contact lenses, and you should not use this product while wearing them. If you use this product for an extended period, your doctor should regularly check your eyes, including your eye pressure.
Sucralfate, antacids with magnesium or aluminum, and vitamin or mineral supplements containing iron can reduce how much of this medicine your body absorbs. Cimetidine can increase the levels of this medicine in your blood, and it may also raise the levels of ciclosporin. Probenecid can slow down how quickly your body removes this medicine through the kidneys.
Warning: Using this medicine with certain heart rhythm drugs (such as quinidine, procainamide, amiodarone, or sotalol) can greatly increase the risk of dangerous heart rhythm problems.
Lomefloxacin should not be used by anyone who is allergic to Lomefloxacin, other quinolone antibiotics, or any ingredient in this medication.
Lomefloxacin works by causing breaks in the double-stranded DNA of certain bacteria and blocking an enzyme called DNA gyrase, which bacteria need to make new DNA and reproduce.
Adults and children (above 1 year of age)
At the beginning of therapy on day one instill 5 drops into the conjunctival sac within 20 minutes. Thereafter, until day 7-9 instill 1 drop 3 times daily into the conjunctival sac.
Otic Otitis externa; Otitis media As .3% soln: Use as diected.
Although animal reproduction studies have shown an adverse effect on the fetus and there are no adequate and well-controlled studies in pregnant women, but during pregnancy, this medicine can be used just when definitely required despite potential risks.
Mothers with a newborn baby who have used this drug during the last 3 months of pregnancy may seldom create symptoms including drowsiness, muscle stiffness or shakiness, feeding or breathing troubles, constant crying. If you notice any of these symptoms of your baby's particularly during their first month, tell the doctor immediately.
This medicine passes into breast milk. Talk to your doctor before breastfeeding.
