Precautions and warnings
Tell your doctor about your medical history, especially if you have had an allergic reaction that involves swelling of the face, lips, tongue, throat, or all of these areas, blood-filtering treatments such as LDL apheresis, dialysis, the high potassium level in the blood.
This medication has the potential to make you dizzy. You may become dizzy if you consume alcohol or use cannabis. Do not drive, operate machinery, or engage in any other activity that requires attentiveness until you are sure you can do so safely. Limit your intake of alcoholic beverages. If you use cannabis, talk to your doctor.
When rising gently from a sitting or lying posture, you can limit the danger of dizziness and lightheadedness.
Dehydration can be caused by excessive perspiration, diarrhea, or vomiting, which can lead to lightheadedness. Consult your doctor if you have persistent diarrhea or vomiting. Unless your doctor tells you otherwise, make sure you drink plenty of water to avoid dehydration.
This product has the potential to raise your potassium levels. Consult your doctor or pharmacist before taking potassium supplements or salt replacements that include potassium.

Drug Interactions
Aliskiren, certain drugs that impair the immune system or increase the risk of infection, such as everolimus, lithium, pharmaceuticals that increase the amount of potassium in the blood, sacubitril, and telmisartan are some of the items that may interact with this drug.
Some items contain substances that can elevate blood pressure or exacerbate heart failure. Tell your pharmacist about the products you're using and how to use them safely, including cough and cold remedies, diet supplements, and NSAIDs.
If you're having injections for a bee or wasp sting allergy while also taking ramipril, you could have a very dangerous reaction. Make sure that all of your doctors are aware of the medications you're taking.
Contraindications
Hypersensitivity to the active substance, bilateral renal artery stenosis, or unilateral renal artery stenosis in a single kidney. Aortic stenosis or blockage of the outflow tract. Pregnancy and a mother who breastfeeds her child.
Mode of actions
Ramipril, a prodrug of ramiprilat, competes with ACE to prevent it from converting angiotensin I to angiotensin II (a powerful vasoconstrictor), resulting in enhanced plasma renin activity and lower aldosterone release (a hormone that induces water and sodium retention). This causes vasodilation, which has a hypotensive impact and is good in CHF.
Dosage & Administration
Adult: PO HTN Initial: 1.25 mg at bedtime. Maintenance: 2.5-5 mg/day as a single dose, up to 10 mg/day if needed.
Heart failure Initial: 1.25 mg once daily. Max: 10 mg/day.
MI Start 3-10 days after infarction. Initial: 2.5 mg twice daily after 2 days, then 5 mg twice daily. Maintenance: 2.5-5 mg twice daily.
Prophylaxis of CV events in high-risk patients Initial: 2.5 mg once daily for 1 wk, then increased if tolerated to 5 mg once daily for 3 wk, then maintenance: 10 mg once daily.
Renal impairment:
CrCl (ml/min)
10-30 Initially, 1.25 mg/day. Max: 5 mg/day.
30-60 Not necessary to adjust the initial dose. Max: 5 mg/day.
Hepatic impairment: Max: 2.5 mg/day.
Pregnancy & Lactation
This medicine is not allowed during pregnancy. Do not use it if you are pregnant. It can be absorbed through the skin and lungs caused can damage your unborn child’s organs and cause congenital disabilities. Strict effective birth control during treatment and for six months after stopping this medicine. If you do become pregnant, stop taking this medicine and discuss your doctor right away.
There is no specific information on whether this medicine passes into breast milk or not. Considering the possible risks for the children, breastfeeding while using this medicine is not recommended and at least two weeks after the last dose. Consult your doctor before breastfeeding.
