Precautions and warnings
When treating patients with prostate diseases, extra caution should be exercised. Chronic bronchitis, cardiac insufficiency, ambient hyperthermia, renal & hepatic insufficiency should all be avoided. Driving or operating machinery might be unsafe due to the hazards of visual disruptions.
Side-effects
- Tiemonium Methylsulfate INN may have some undesirable effects in certain individuals like risk of hypotension
- tachycardia especially in case of injection.
Drug Interactions
To avoid possible drug interactions, Tiemonium methylsulphate pill should not be taken with other medications without first consulting a doctor.
Contraindications
This medication should not be used if you have glaucoma symptoms such as acute pain in the eyeball, vision problems, or difficulty peeing (disorders of the prostate or bladder).
Mode of actions
Tiemonium Methylsulfate is an anticholinergic and antispasmodic medication that is synthesized. Tiemonium antimuscarinics are quaternary ammonium antimuscarinics that have peripheral actions similar to atropine. Tiemonium increases calcium bonds with phospholipids and proteins, which helps to keep the GI tract's cell membrane stable.
Dosage & Administration
Tablet: The usual dosages of Timozin are 2 to 6 tablets (100-300 mg) daily in divided doses as required.
Injection: 1 ampoule by slow IV/IM injection 3 times daily.
Pregnancy & Lactation
FDA has not yet classified this medicine into a specified pregnancy category. Although there is no enough evidence that taking this medicine during you are pregnant is harmful.
Discuss with your doctor if you are trying to get pregnant while taking this medicine too.
If you do become pregnant while you are taking this medicine, you should continue to take it and contact with your doctors as quickly as possible. They can assist you to decide whether or not to keep taking this medicine. If you abandon taking this medicine and become sick, this would be more pernicious to your child than staying on the medication.
There is no specific information about whether this medicine is passed on to the baby through breast milk. During this medication, if your baby becomes very sleepy, restless, fatigued, exhibit feeding problems, stop breastfeeding and talk to your doctors very quickly.
