Precautions and warnings
पेट और ग्रहणी संबंधी अल्सर के साथ-साथ ऐंठन संबंधी विकारों वाले रोगियों को सावधानी के साथ एम्ब्रोक्सोल का उपयोग करना चाहिए। इसका उपयोग उन रोगियों द्वारा सावधानी के साथ किया जाना चाहिए जिन्हें यकृत या गुर्दे की हानि है।

Contraindications
एम्ब्रोक्सोल या ब्रोमहेक्सिन अतिसंवेदनशीलता को वर्जित किया गया है।
Mode of actions
एम्ब्रोक्सोल एक ब्रोमहेक्सिन मेटाबोलाइट है। म्यूकोकाइनेटिक (बलगम परिवहन में सुधार) और सेक्रेटोलिटिक (स्राव को द्रवीकृत करता है) दोनों विशेषताएं मौजूद हैं। एम्ब्रोक्सोल ब्रांकाई की श्लेष्मा झिल्ली की ग्रंथियों की सीरस कोशिकाओं को उत्तेजित करके बलगम स्राव को बढ़ाता है। म्यूकोलाईटिक क्रिया म्यूकोप्रोटीन और म्यूकोपॉलीसेकेराइड फाइबर के डीपोलिमराइजेशन और टूटने के कारण होती है, जिसके परिणामस्वरूप बलगम की चिपचिपाहट में कमी आती है। बलगम निकालने में मदद मिलती है और सांस लेना बहुत आसान हो जाता है। एम्ब्रोक्सोल सर्फेक्टेंट फॉस्फोलिपिड्स के वायुकोशीय कोशिका संश्लेषण को बढ़ावा देता है। एम्ब्रोक्सोल एक सूजन-रोधी पदार्थ है। यह सीओपीडी रोगियों में वायुमार्ग की सहनशीलता में सुधार करता है।
Dosage & Administration
बाल चिकित्सा बूँदें:
0 - 6 महीने की उम्र - 0.5 मिली, दिन में 2 बार,
6 - 12 महीने के बच्चे - 1 मिली, दिन में 2 बार,
1 - 2 साल के बच्चे - 1.25 मिली, दिन में 2 बार।
सिरप: 2 -5 वर्ष पुराना - 2.5 मिली (1/2 चम्मच), दिन में 2-3 बार,
5 - 10 वर्ष - 5 मिली (1 चम्मच), दिन में 2-3 बार,
10 वर्ष और वयस्क - 10 मिली (2 चम्मच), दिन में 3 बार।
एसआर कैप्सूल: वयस्क और 12 वर्ष से अधिक उम्र के बच्चे - 1 कैप्सूल, दिन में एक बार
Pregnancy & Lactation
FDA ने अभी तक इस दवा को किसी निर्दिष्ट गर्भावस्था श्रेणी में वर्गीकृत नहीं किया है। हालाँकि इस बात के पर्याप्त प्रमाण नहीं हैं कि गर्भावस्था के दौरान यह दवा लेना हानिकारक है।
यदि आप इस दवा को लेते समय भी गर्भवती होने की कोशिश कर रही हैं तो अपने डॉक्टर से चर्चा करें।
