Precautions and warnings

Be cautious when giving iron to people who could develop too much iron, such as those with haemochromatosis, haemolytic anaemia, or red cell aplasia. Iron can bind to tetracycline, which may reduce how well both medicines are absorbed.

Drug Interactions

**Iron:**
Taking antacids can reduce how much iron your body absorbs. Iron can also make penicillamine less effective. If you take iron with certain psychiatric medications, you may have worse constipation. Using iron together with ACE inhibitors or getting iron by injection may increase side effects in your body.

**Folic Acid:**
The following can lower the amount of folic acid in your blood: some anti-seizure medicines, birth control pills, drugs for tuberculosis, alcohol, aminopterin, methotrexate, pyrimethamine, trimethoprim, and sulphonamides. Folic acid can also lower the amount of phenytoin in your blood.

Contraindications

Do not use this product if you are allergic to any of its ingredients.

Mode of actions

**Iron:**
Iron is a key part of hemoglobin, which is needed to make red blood cells and carry oxygen in the blood. It also helps as a cofactor for important enzymes, like those involved in energy production. The body stores iron in hemoglobin, myoglobin, and some enzymes.

**Folic Acid:**
Folic acid is important for making DNA and healthy red blood cells. In the body, it is changed into an active form called tetrahydrofolic acid. Folic acid helps prevent birth defects in the brain and spine for women who might become pregnant, and higher amounts are needed during pregnancy.

**Zinc:**
Zinc is needed for over 100 enzymes to work correctly. It helps make DNA, supports the immune system, and is important for the senses of taste and smell. It may also help insulin work properly.

**Vitamin B:**
Vitamin B helps your body use fats and carbohydrates for energy and helps in tissue repair. It is necessary for normal breathing at the tissue level and for breaking down stored sugars. Vitamin B12, in particular, is essential for making and maintaining healthy red blood cells, proteins, nerve coverings (myelin), and for cell growth. To absorb Vitamin B12, the stomach must produce a special protein called intrinsic factor. Vitamin B12 also helps turn certain nutrients into forms the body can use.

Dosage & Administration

One capsule daily. In more severe cases, 2 capsules a day may be required or as directed by the physician.

Pregnancy & Lactation

FDA has not yet classified this medicine into a specified pregnancy category. Although there is no enough evidence that taking this medicine during you are pregnant is harmful.

Discuss with your doctor if you are trying to get pregnant while taking this medicine too.

If you do become pregnant while you are taking this medicine, you should continue to take it and contact with your doctors as quickly as possible. They can assist you to decide whether or not to keep taking this medicine. If you abandon taking this medicine and become sick, this would be more pernicious to your child than staying on the medication.


There is no specific information about whether this medicine is passed on to the baby through breast milk. During this medication, if your baby becomes very sleepy, restless, fatigued, exhibit feeding problems, stop breastfeeding and talk to your doctors very quickly.
