Do not use if you have narrow-angle glaucoma, enlarged prostate or blockage in the bladder neck, or kidney problems. Avoid during pregnancy and breastfeeding. Stop using immediately if you develop a severe allergic reaction (such as swelling), worsening breathing problems, eye pain, red eyes, seeing halos, or other signs of acute narrow-angle glaucoma.
Other anticholinergic agents.
Do not use if you are allergic to atropine or similar medicines, such as ipratropium.
Tiotropium bromide is a long-acting medication related to ipratropium. It works by blocking muscarinic receptors (M1 to M5) in the lungs, especially the M3 receptor in the airway muscles. By preventing the action of acetylcholine and similar substances, tiotropium helps relax the airway muscles and makes breathing easier.
Maintenance therapy in chronic obstructive pulmonary disease
Adults and adolescents 12 years and older : Inhaler
The recommended dosage of Tiotropium bromide is the inhalation of 2 puffs once daily.
Adult: >18 yr: 1 cap (18 mcg of tiotropium) inhaled daily, with the inhalation device, at the same time of day.

Although animal reproduction studies have shown an adverse effect on the fetus and there are no adequate and well-controlled studies in pregnant women, but during pregnancy, this medicine can be used just when definitely required despite potential risks.
Mothers with a newborn baby who have used this drug during the last 3 months of pregnancy may seldom create symptoms including drowsiness, muscle stiffness or shakiness, feeding or breathing troubles, constant crying. If you notice any of these symptoms of your baby's particularly during their first month, tell the doctor immediately.
This medicine passes into breast milk. Talk to your doctor before breastfeeding.
