Precautions and warnings
Triamcinolone Acetonide should be used with caution in people who have certain health conditions. These include eye infections like ocular herpes simplex, nonspecific ulcerative colitis, stomach ulcers (active or hidden), kidney problems, high blood pressure, weak bones (osteoporosis), Cushing’s syndrome, diabetes, heart failure, or long-term kidney inflammation (chronic nephritis).

Drug Interactions
Plasma levels of salicylates may drop. There is a higher risk of stomach bleeding and ulcers when taken with NSAIDs. Antidiabetic medicines may not lower blood sugar as well when used together. The risk of high potassium levels (hyperkalaemia) increases when combined with amphotericin B, some asthma and heart medicines (like beta-agonists and beta-blockers), certain diuretics that lower potassium, or theophylline. Triamcinolone may be removed from the body faster if taken with drugs such as ciclosporin, carbamazepine, phenytoin, barbiturates, or rifampicin. Using this with live vaccines can increase the risk of infections.
Contraindications
Triamcinolone Acetonide should not be used by people who are allergic to it or any of its ingredients. It is also not safe for people with untreated infections such as fungal, bacterial, viral, or parasitic infections, or those with a history of severe allergic reactions (hypersensitivity).
Mode of actions
Triamcinolone mainly acts as a glucocorticoid. It works by stopping certain white blood cells (polymorphonuclear leukocytes) from moving to areas of inflammation and by making blood vessels less leaky. This helps reduce inflammation in the body.
Dosage & Administration
Nasal Treatment and prophylaxis of allergic rhinitis Adult: As acetonide: Initially, 2 sprays (110 mcg) into each nostril once daily, reduced to 1 spray (55 mcg) when under control.
Child: 6-12 yr: as acetonide: 1 spray (55 mcg) into each nostril once daily. Increased to 220 mcg daily in severe cases.Hay fever As acetonide: 40-100 mg
Pregnancy & Lactation
Although animal reproduction studies have shown an adverse effect on the fetus and there are no adequate and well-controlled studies in pregnant women, but during pregnancy, this medicine can be used just when definitely required despite potential risks.
Mothers with a newborn baby who have used this drug during the last 3 months of pregnancy may seldom create symptoms including drowsiness, muscle stiffness or shakiness, feeding or breathing troubles, constant crying. If you notice any of these symptoms of your baby's particularly during their first month, tell the doctor immediately.
This medicine passes into breast milk. Talk to your doctor before breastfeeding.
