Precautions and warnings
If serious irritation occurs, stop using it. After the discomfort has subsided, resume therapy at a comfortable dosage. The occlusive dressing should not be used. In allergic patients, it may induce dermatitis. Apply with caution around the eyes, mouth, neck, and other mucous membranes, as well as any other sensitive regions.
Side-effects
- Excessive drying of skin
- allergic dermatitis. May bleach fabrics or hair. Skin discoloration; skin rash
- peeling
- transient local oedema.
Drug Interactions
PABA sunscreens may cause the cloth to discolor for a short period of time.
Contraindications
Hypersensitivity.
Mode of actions
Because of its oxidative characteristic, benzoyl peroxide has a modest keratolytic impact and antibacterial action. It kills S.epidermidis and P.acne bacteria.
Dosage & Administration
Adult: Topical Acne As 2.5-10% cream: Apply 1-2 times/day.
Pregnancy & Lactation
Although animal reproduction studies have shown an adverse effect on the fetus and there are no adequate and well-controlled studies in pregnant women, but during pregnancy, this medicine can be used just when definitely required despite potential risks.
Mothers with a newborn baby who have used this drug during the last 3 months of pregnancy may seldom create symptoms including drowsiness, muscle stiffness or shakiness, feeding or breathing troubles, constant crying. If you notice any of these symptoms of your baby's particularly during their first month, tell the doctor immediately.
This medicine passes into breast milk. Talk to your doctor before breastfeeding.
