Precautions and warnings
Keep a close watch for any loss of vision, bulging eyes, double vision, migraines, or symptoms of embolism. Also monitor for heart or kidney problems, epilepsy, asthma, and any other conditions that could get worse if the body retains extra fluid. Be cautious if the patient is breastfeeding.

Drug Interactions
Carbamazepine, griseofulvin, phenobarbital, and rifampicin increase how quickly progestogens are removed from the body.
Contraindications
Do not use if you are allergic to this medication or if you are pregnant. It should also not be used if you have unexplained vaginal bleeding, blood clots, a history of stroke or heart disease, missed or incomplete miscarriage, known or suspected cancer of the breast or reproductive organs, serious liver problems, or as a pregnancy test.
Mode of actions
Dydrogesterone is a type of medicine similar to the natural hormone progesterone. Unlike progesterone, it does not raise body temperature or stop ovulation. This makes it a good choice if you don’t need birth control. Also, dydrogesterone does not have effects like estrogen or male hormones (androgens).
Dosage & Administration
Adult: PO Endometriosis 10 mg 2-3 times/day in a cyclical or continuous regimen.
Recurrent miscarriage 10 mg twice daily cyclically until conception, then continuously until wk 20 of pregnancy, then reduce dose slowly.
Menstrual disorders 10 mg twice daily in a cyclical regimen.
Threatened miscarriage Initial: 40 mg followed by >10 mg 8 hrly, continue for a wk after symptoms cease. Infertility 10 mg twice daily.
Endometrial protection during menopausal HRT 10 mg 1-2 times/day in a cyclical regimen or 5 mg/day..
Pregnancy & Lactation
FDA has not yet classified this medicine into a specified pregnancy category. Although there is no enough evidence that taking this medicine during you are pregnant is harmful.
Discuss with your doctor if you are trying to get pregnant while taking this medicine too.
If you do become pregnant while you are taking this medicine, you should continue to take it and contact with your doctors as quickly as possible. They can assist you to decide whether or not to keep taking this medicine. If you abandon taking this medicine and become sick, this would be more pernicious to your child than staying on the medication.
There is no specific information about whether this medicine is passed on to the baby through breast milk. During this medication, if your baby becomes very sleepy, restless, fatigued, exhibit feeding problems, stop breastfeeding and talk to your doctors very quickly.
