People with liver or kidney disease, blocked stomach (pyloric stenosis), trouble urinating, enlarged prostate, mental health problems (like psychosis), seizure disorders, inflammatory bowel disease (ulcerative colitis), heart problems (such as blocked arteries, irregular rapid heartbeat, heart failure, or high blood pressure) should use this medication with caution. Extra care is also needed in elderly people, children, pregnant women, and those who are breastfeeding.
People with the following conditions should avoid this: narrow-angle glaucoma, recent severe bleeding, blocked intestines (paralytic ileus), fast heart rate caused by heart problems, and myasthenia gravis (a muscle weakness disorder).
Hyoscine works by blocking muscarinic receptors in the body and affects both the brain and other organs. It helps relax smooth muscles and slows down movements in the stomach and intestines.
Adult & Children over 12 years: Motion sickness As hydrobromide: 300 mcg 30 mins before journey, then 300 mcg 6 hrly if needed. Max: 3 doses in 24 hr.
Children 4-12 years: 1 tablet 30 mins before journey. Maximum 2 tablet in 24 hours.
Chidren 3-4 years: 1/2 tab 30 mins before journey. Maximum 1 tablet in 24 hours.
Although animal reproduction studies have shown an adverse effect on the fetus and there are no adequate and well-controlled studies in pregnant women, but during pregnancy, this medicine can be used just when definitely required despite potential risks.
Mothers with a newborn baby who have used this drug during the last 3 months of pregnancy may seldom create symptoms including drowsiness, muscle stiffness or shakiness, feeding or breathing troubles, constant crying. If you notice any of these symptoms of your baby's particularly during their first month, tell the doctor immediately.
This medicine passes into breast milk. Talk to your doctor before breastfeeding.
