Precautions and warnings

This drug may build up in the body, posing a risk. As a result, it should not be used in excess or indefinitely unless prescribed by a physician.

Contraindications

Patients who have a known hypersensitivity to any of the components should avoid using this medicine.

Mode of actions

It has eight vitamins and fatty acids in it (cod liver oil). Vitamin A, D, EPA, and DHA are all found in cod liver oil. DHA and EPA are both omega-3 fatty acids. These omega-3 fatty acids lower blood triglycerides (high triglycerides are associated with an increased risk of heart disease) and may slow atherosclerosis progression. They also have anti-inflammatory properties, making them beneficial in the treatment of Crohn's disease and rheumatoid arthritis. Omega-3 fatty acids are also required for prostaglandin production, according to research. They are likely responsible for blood vessel dilatation due to their action on prostaglandin. Omega-3 fatty acids were proven to aid patients with Raynaud's illness in a double-blind trial. It has also been discovered that EPA and DHA play a function in cancer prevention and cardiac arrhythmia prevention.

Dosage & Administration

Infants ( 4 years): One & half teaspoonful daily. Adults: Two teaspoonful daily. Women of child bearing age (including pregnancy & lactation): One teaspoonful daily. It can be taken with water or milk if desired.

Pregnancy & Lactation

FDA has not yet classified this medicine into a specified pregnancy category. Although there is no enough evidence that taking this medicine during you are pregnant is harmful.

Discuss with your doctor if you are trying to get pregnant while taking this medicine too.

If you do become pregnant while you are taking this medicine, you should continue to take it and contact with your doctors as quickly as possible. They can assist you to decide whether or not to keep taking this medicine. If you abandon taking this medicine and become sick, this would be more pernicious to your child than staying on the medication.


There is no specific information about whether this medicine is passed on to the baby through breast milk. During this medication, if your baby becomes very sleepy, restless, fatigued, exhibit feeding problems, stop breastfeeding and talk to your doctors very quickly.
