Mode of actions

**Vitamin B12 (cyanocobalamin):**
Vitamin B12 is needed to keep red blood cell production, nerve health (myelin synthesis), cell growth, and DNA building working normally. It helps enzymes do their jobs, supports protein and carbohydrate metabolism, and is important for cell division and making blood cells.

**Iron:**
Iron is a key part of hemoglobin, the protein in red blood cells that carries oxygen. Enough iron is necessary to make healthy red blood cells. Iron also helps several important enzymes work, like those in the electron transport chain. It replaces iron lost from hemoglobin, myoglobin, and enzymes, and helps hemoglobin carry oxygen in the blood.

**Folic acid:**
Folic acid is needed to build DNA and proteins, and for making healthy red blood cells. In the body, it’s changed into its active form (tetrahydrofolic acid) by an enzyme in the liver and blood. Folic acid prevents serious birth defects of the brain and spine, so it is especially important for women who may become pregnant, and higher doses are needed during pregnancy.
