Precautions and warnings
People with narrow-angle glaucoma or those at risk for glaucoma, as well as individuals with kidney or liver problems, should use caution. This also applies to pregnant or breastfeeding women, children, and elderly people.
Side-effects
- Acute angle-closure glaucoma
- nasal dryness
- epistaxis (nasal spray). Potentially Fatal: Anaphylactic reactions
- atrial fibrillation
- supraventricular tachycardia.
Drug Interactions
Increased toxicity with other anticholinergic drugs.
Mode of actions
Ipratropium bromide works by blocking acetylcholine at certain sites in the lungs, which helps relax the airway muscles and makes it easier to breathe.
Dosage & Administration
Adults : Nasal Rhinorrhoea associated w/ rhinitis; Seasonal allergic rhinitis As metered dose nasal spray (0.06%): 42 mcg into each nostril 2-3 times/day, up to 84 mcg into each nostril 3-4 times/day.
Pregnancy & Lactation
Although animal reproduction studies have shown an adverse effect even sometimes unable to demonstrate the risk on the fetus and there are no adequate and well-controlled studies in pregnant women, but during pregnancy, this medicine can be used just when definitely required.

There is no specific information about whether this medicine is passed on to the baby through breast milk. Discuss with your doctor before breastfeeding.
