Micanol is indicated for

Precautions and warnings

Do not use on your face, skin folds, inner thighs, upper arms, or genitals. Keep away from your eyes and the inside of your mouth or nose.

Contraindications

Acute or pustular psoriasis. Inflamed skin. Hypersensitivity.

Mode of actions

This substance appears to slow down cell growth, possibly by blocking DNA production and due to its strong ability to reduce other chemicals. It may help treat psoriasis by turning off an enzyme called epidermal 12-lipoxygenase and by lowering the levels of certain molecules on blood vessel cells that are usually much higher in people with psoriasis.

Dosage & Administration

Adult: Topical As 0.1% oint/paste: Apply for a few hr before washing off once daily.

Pregnancy & Lactation

Although animal reproduction studies have shown an adverse effect on the fetus and there are no adequate and well-controlled studies in pregnant women, but during pregnancy, this medicine can be used just when definitely required despite potential risks.

Mothers with a newborn baby who have used this drug during the last 3 months of pregnancy may seldom create symptoms including drowsiness, muscle stiffness or shakiness, feeding or breathing troubles, constant crying. If you notice any of these symptoms of your baby's particularly during their first month, tell the doctor immediately.

This medicine passes into breast milk. Talk to your doctor before breastfeeding.
