With oral antidiabetics, this medicine may lower platelet count.
Before using this drug, tell your doctor about all of your medications, both prescription and nonprescription, such as herbal supplements.
Potentiates the effects of sedatives, hypnotics, antihistamines, and alcohol on the central nervous system.
Acute asthma attack.
Ketotifen inhibits the release of mediators from cells involved in hypersensitive reactions in a selective and non-competitive manner. It also functions as a mast cell stabilizer.
Adult: PO: Tablet:
Asthma prophylaxis; Allergic conditions 1 mg twice daily, up to 2 mg twice daily if needed.
Syrup:
6 months to 3 years:
0.25 ml / kg body weight, twice daily (Once in the morning & once in the evening).
Although animal reproduction studies have shown an adverse effect on the fetus and there are no adequate and well-controlled studies in pregnant women, but during pregnancy, this medicine can be used just when definitely required despite potential risks.
Mothers with a newborn baby who have used this drug during the last 3 months of pregnancy may seldom create symptoms including drowsiness, muscle stiffness or shakiness, feeding or breathing troubles, constant crying. If you notice any of these symptoms of your baby's particularly during their first month, tell the doctor immediately.
This medicine passes into breast milk. Talk to your doctor before breastfeeding.
