Using this medication for a long time can cause other organisms, like fungi, to grow more than usual. It may also lead to increased pressure in the eyes (ocular hypertension) or glaucoma, which can damage the optic nerve and cause vision problems such as decreased sharpness, blind spots, and even cataracts.
If you wear contact lenses, do not use these drops while your lenses are in your eyes.
This medicine can raise the levels of certain drugs in your blood, such as clozapine, ropinirole, and theophylline. It can make blood thinners (like warfarin) and diabetes medicine (like glibenclamide) work more strongly. It also makes methotrexate more toxic. Probenecid can increase the amount of this medicine in your blood.
Taking this medicine with multivitamins or mineral supplements that contain iron, zinc, or calcium, as well as antacids with aluminum, calcium, or magnesium, can lower how much of the medicine your body absorbs. Using it together with certain heart rhythm drugs (like quinidine, procainamide, amiodarone, sotalol), some antidepressants (TCAs), certain antibiotics (macrolides), or antipsychotics can cause an increased risk of heart rhythm problems.
Taking this medicine with corticosteroids may increase the risk of serious tendon injuries. Using it with NSAIDs may raise the risk of nervous system side effects. It can also change the levels of phenytoin (a seizure medicine) in your blood.
**Danger:**
Taking this medicine with tizanidine can cause a dangerous increase in tizanidine in your blood, which can lead to very low blood pressure and strong sedative effects.
Do not use if you are allergic to any ingredient in this product. Avoid using it if you have herpes simplex or other viral infections, fungal infections, glaucoma, in newborn babies, or if you have fungal diseases affecting the eyes or ears.
Ciprofloxacin works by breaking the double-stranded DNA of certain bacteria and stopping the action of DNA gyrase, an enzyme needed for bacteria to reproduce.
Dexamethasone is a man-made steroid that reduces inflammation by stopping white blood cells from moving to the affected area and by making blood vessels less leaky. It also lowers the body's normal immune response.
For Eye: 1 drop to be instilled into conjunctival sac(s) every four to six hours. During the initial 24 to 48 hours, the dosage may be increased to 1 drop every two hours.
For Ear: Acute otitis media in pediatric patients with typanastomy tube: 4 drops instilled into the affected ear 2 times daily for 7 days. Acute otitis externa: 4 drops instilled into the affected ear 2 times daily for 7 days.
Frequency should be decreased gradually or warranted in clinical signs. Care should be taken not to discontinue therapy prematurely.
Although animal reproduction studies have shown an adverse effect on the fetus and there are no adequate and well-controlled studies in pregnant women, but during pregnancy, this medicine can be used just when definitely required despite potential risks.
Mothers with a newborn baby who have used this drug during the last 3 months of pregnancy may seldom create symptoms including drowsiness, muscle stiffness or shakiness, feeding or breathing troubles, constant crying. If you notice any of these symptoms of your baby's particularly during their first month, tell the doctor immediately.
This medicine passes into breast milk. Talk to your doctor before breastfeeding.
