Precautions and warnings
Patienten mit Magen- und Zwölffingerdarmgeschwüren sowie Krampfstörungen sollten Ambroxol mit Vorsicht anwenden. Es sollte bei Patienten mit eingeschränkter Leber- oder Nierenfunktion mit Vorsicht angewendet werden.
Side-effects
- Leichte gastrointestinale Auswirkungen und allergische Reaktionen.
Contraindications
Eine Überempfindlichkeit gegen Ambroxol oder Bromhexin ist kontraindiziert.
Mode of actions
Ambroxol ist ein Bromhexin-Metabolit. Es sind sowohl mukokinetische (verbessert den Schleimtransport) als auch sekretolytische (Sekretion verflüssigende) Eigenschaften vorhanden. Ambroxol erhöht die Schleimsekretion, indem es die serösen Zellen der Drüsen der Schleimhaut der Bronchien stimuliert. Die schleimlösende Wirkung wird durch die Depolymerisation und das Aufbrechen von Mukoproteinen und Mukopolysaccharidfasern verursacht, was zu einer Verringerung der Schleimviskosität führt. Das Abhusten des Schleims wird gefördert und das Atmen deutlich erleichtert. Ambroxol fördert die Synthese von Tensid-Phospholipiden in den Alveolarzellen. Ambroxol ist ein entzündungshemmender Stoff. Es verbessert die Durchgängigkeit der Atemwege bei COPD-Patienten.
Dosage & Administration
Kindertropfen:
0 - 6 Monate alt - 0,5 ml, 2-mal täglich,
6 - 12 Monate alt - 1 ml, 2 mal täglich,
1–2 Jahre alt – 1,25 ml, 2-mal täglich.
Sirup: 2–5 Jahre alt – 2,5 ml (1/2 Teelöffel), 2–3 mal täglich,
5–10 Jahre alt – 5 ml (1 Teelöffel), 2–3 mal täglich,
10 Jahre und Erwachsene – 10 ml (2 Teelöffel), 3-mal täglich.
SR-Kapsel: Erwachsene und Kinder über 12 Jahre – 1 Kapsel einmal täglich
Pregnancy & Lactation
Die FDA hat dieses Arzneimittel noch nicht in eine bestimmte Schwangerschaftskategorie eingestuft. Allerdings gibt es keine ausreichenden Beweise dafür, dass die Einnahme dieses Arzneimittels während der Schwangerschaft schädlich ist.

Sie können Ihnen bei der Entscheidung helfen, ob Sie dieses Arzneimittel weiterhin einnehmen sollen oder nicht. Wenn Sie die Einnahme dieses Arzneimittels abbrechen und krank werden, wäre dies für Ihr Kind schädlicher, als wenn Sie das Arzneimittel weiterhin einnehmen.
Es liegen keine spezifischen Informationen darüber vor, ob dieses Arzneimittel über die Muttermilch auf das Baby übertragen wird.
