Patients with mild to severe renal failure or mild hypercalciuria need to be closely monitored. Patients with mild to moderate renal failure or mild hypercalciuria should have their plasma calcium levels and urinary calcium excretion checked on a regular basis.
Calcium excretion in the urine should also be measured. Urinary calcium excretion should be assessed in patients with a history of renal stones to rule out hypercalciuria. Long-term medication should be monitored for serum and urine calcium levels, as well as kidney function, and treatment should be reduced or stopped if urinary calcium reaches 7.5mmol/24 hours.
When used simultaneously, they may have an effect on tetracycline absorption. Calcium absorption may be reduced if systemic corticosteroids are taken at the same time. Calcium excretion in the urine may be reduced by thiazide diuretics. Vitamin D absorption through the GI tract may be reduced when combined with ion-exchange resins. During calcium and vitamin D medication, hypercalcemia can exacerbate the toxicity of cardiac glycosides, therefore keep an eye on your ECG and blood calcium levels. At least 3 hours before calcium-containing preparations, bisphosphonate or sodium fluoride should be given.

Children: Not recommended for children under 12 years.
Although animal reproduction studies have shown an adverse effect on the fetus and there are no adequate and well-controlled studies in pregnant women, but during pregnancy, this medicine can be used just when definitely required despite potential risks.
Mothers with a newborn baby who have used this drug during the last 3 months of pregnancy may seldom create symptoms including drowsiness, muscle stiffness or shakiness, feeding or breathing troubles, constant crying. If you notice any of these symptoms of your baby's particularly during their first month, tell the doctor immediately.
This medicine passes into breast milk. Talk to your doctor before breastfeeding.
