Lacrima is indicated for
- Dry eye
- Burning
- irritation of the eye
Precautions and warnings
If you have blurred vision after using this product, do not drive or use machines until your vision is back to normal. Do not wear contact lenses while using the product. After using it, wait at least 30 minutes before putting your contact lenses back in.
Side-effects
- Occasionally mild-transient burning or sticky sensation
- very rarely irritation or hypersensitivity reactions reported. Blurred vision after application may occur.
Drug Interactions
Drugs called enzyme inducers, such as phenytoin or carbamazepine, can increase the activity of certain liver enzymes. In contrast, enzyme inhibitors like cimetidine can slow down these enzymes.
Contraindications
Do not use Eye Drops if you are allergic to any of its ingredients.
Mode of actions
Dextrans help increase the amount of plasma in the blood. They also make the blood less thick and prevent red blood cells from sticking together or forming clumps.
Dosage & Administration
1 drop 4 times daily or as required, depending upon the severity of the disease, to be instilled into the conjunctival sac.
Pregnancy & Lactation
Although animal reproduction studies have shown an adverse effect on the fetus and there are no adequate and well-controlled studies in pregnant women, but during pregnancy, this medicine can be used just when definitely required despite potential risks.
Mothers with a newborn baby who have used this drug during the last 3 months of pregnancy may seldom create symptoms including drowsiness, muscle stiffness or shakiness, feeding or breathing troubles, constant crying. If you notice any of these symptoms of your baby's particularly during their first month, tell the doctor immediately.
This medicine passes into breast milk. Talk to your doctor before breastfeeding.
