Refined Soyabean Oil + Purified Egg Lecithin + Glycerol (10% fat emulsion) Similar medicine
This product contains soya oil and egg lecithin, which can sometimes cause allergic reactions. People allergic to peanuts may also react to soya-bean. Fat metabolism can be affected in people with kidney problems, uncontrolled diabetes, pancreatitis, liver problems, metabolic disorders, or sepsis, so Fatisol should be given carefully. There is a strong link between C-reactive protein levels and Fatisol clumping in very sick patients.
Fatisol should be used cautiously in newborns and premature babies, especially those with high bilirubin levels or suspected lung pressure problems. In low birthweight babies, the risk of giving lipid infusions may be higher than any benefit, as their defenses against infection may be weaker. In infants, infections and treatment with heparin can also reduce the body’s ability to process fat. For newborns, especially premature ones, getting long-term nutrition through a vein, it’s important to regularly check their platelet count, liver function, and blood fat levels.
