**Cinnarizine:**
The drowsiness caused by cinnarizine can be made worse if you drink alcohol. Its effects are also increased when taken with domperidone.
**Dimenhydrinate:**
Do not mix dimenhydrinate in solution with aminophylline, hydrocortisone, phenothiazines, or certain barbiturates, as they are not compatible.
Serious risk: Dimenhydrinate increases drowsiness when taken with alcohol, barbiturates, opioid painkillers, sleeping pills, and antipsychotic medications. The antimuscarinic (drying) side effects become stronger if taken with MAO inhibitors, atropine, or tricyclic antidepressants (TCAs). Dimenhydrinate can also hide hearing damage caused by certain antibiotics (aminoglycosides).
Do not use this drug if you are allergic to it, have Parkinson’s disease, or if the patient is a child or a newborn.
Cinnarizine works by blocking calcium channels, mostly in the smooth muscles of arteries. It also has some antihistamine effects and helps calm the inner ear. Additionally, it improves blood flow by making the blood less thick when there is poor circulation.
