Side-effects
- Efectos gastrointestinales leves y reacciones alérgicas.
Drug Interactions
Algunos medicamentos pueden aumentar la cantidad de medicamento en la sangre al afectar las enzimas hepáticas. Los ejemplos incluyen azitromicina, cimetidina, eritromicina, fluoxetina y ketoconazol.
El uso de este medicamento con otros medicamentos específicos puede aumentar el riesgo de efectos secundarios:
- El riesgo de hipertensión arterial y latidos cardíacos irregulares es mayor si se toman con medicamentos para el corazón (como glucósidos cardíacos, quinidina o antidepresivos tricíclicos).
- Existe una mayor probabilidad de que se produzca una fuerte constricción de los vasos sanguíneos si se utiliza con alcaloides del cornezuelo de centeno u oxitocina.
- Tomar este medicamento con inhibidores de la MAO (IMAO) puede provocar un aumento peligroso de la presión arterial (crisis hipertensiva).
- Usarlo con ciertos anestésicos (como ciclopropano, halotano y otros anestésicos halogenados) o medicamentos para la presión arterial (antihipertensivos) puede causar interacciones.
Mode of actions
La desloratadina es un medicamento para las alergias de larga duración que no provoca somnolencia. Funciona bloqueando los receptores de histamina H1 fuera del cerebro e impide que ciertas células inmunitarias liberen sustancias que causan inflamación.
La pseudoefedrina actúa activando los receptores alfa y beta-adrenérgicos. Hace que los vasos sanguíneos de la nariz se estrechen, lo que reduce la congestión. También relaja las vías respiratorias y puede aumentar la frecuencia cardíaca y la fuerza de los latidos del corazón.
Dosage & Administration
VO: Adultos y adolescentes de 12 años o más: 1 comprimido (2,5 mg de desloratadina/120 mg de pseudoefedrina) cada 12 horas.
1 comprimido (5 mg de desloratadina/240 mg de pseudoefedrina) cada 24 horas.
Pregnancy & Lactation
Aunque los estudios de reproducción en animales han demostrado un efecto adverso en el feto y no existen estudios adecuados y bien controlados en mujeres embarazadas, durante el embarazo este medicamento se puede utilizar sólo cuando sea definitivamente necesario a pesar de los riesgos potenciales.
Las madres con un bebé recién nacido que han usado este medicamento durante los últimos 3 meses de embarazo rara vez presentan síntomas que incluyen somnolencia, rigidez o temblores musculares, problemas para alimentarse o respirar, y llanto constante. Si nota alguno de estos síntomas en su bebé, especialmente durante el primer mes, informe al médico de inmediato.
Este medicamento pasa a la leche materna. Hable con su médico antes de amamantar.
