La prise de ce médicament avec d'autres médicaments qui dépriment le système nerveux central (tels que des sédatifs ou des tranquillisants) peut augmenter les effets secondaires liés à la somnolence, aux étourdissements ou au ralentissement de la respiration.
La lévocétirizine est une forme de cétirizine qui agit en bloquant l'histamine au niveau des récepteurs H1 de l'estomac et des intestins, des vaisseaux sanguins et des voies respiratoires. Cela aide à réduire les symptômes d’allergie.
• Adultes et enfants de 12 ans et plus : 5 mg une fois par jour
• Enfants de 6 à 11 ans : 2,5 mg (1/2 comprimé ou 1 cuillère à café de solution buvable) une fois par jour
• Enfants de 6 mois à 5 ans : 1,25 mg (1/2 cuillère à café de solution buvable) une fois par jour
Bien que les études sur la reproduction animale aient montré un effet indésirable, même parfois sans pouvoir démontrer le risque pour le fœtus et qu'il n'existe pas d'études adéquates et bien contrôlées chez la femme enceinte, ce médicament peut être utilisé pendant la grossesse juste en cas de nécessité absolue.
