Mefenamic acid may make ACE inhibitors or angiotensin II receptor blockers less effective in lowering blood pressure. The risk of serious stomach problems is higher if taken with aspirin. Mefenamic acid may reduce how well furosemide or thiazide diuretics help the body get rid of salt. It can also cause lithium to build up in the blood by reducing how quickly the kidneys remove it. Lastly, taking it with warfarin may increase the risk of bleeding.
