Because this medication can induce a reduction in blood potassium levels, it should be used with caution in individuals who have hypokalemia.
In certain cases, using this medication has been linked to an increase in asthma symptoms. If breathing becomes more difficult after taking this medication, contact your doctor right once. In such circumstances, the usage of Levosalbutamol should be discontinued promptly.
Excessive use of this medicine may produce serious side effects and, in some circumstances, death.
This drug may interact with alcohol, amitriptyline, atenolol, ketoconazole, propranolol, xylometazoline, furosemide, hydrochlorothiazide, formoterol, pseudoephedrine.
Patients having a history of hypersensitivity to Levosalbutamol or any of its components should avoid taking it.
Salbutamol is a bronchodilator that is a direct-acting sympathomimetic with adrenergic activity and selective action on receptors. It also makes the uterus less contractile.
Children (2 -5 years): Up to 0.1 mg/kg body weight (not more than 1 mg) three times daily.
Children (6 -11 years): 5 ml (1 mg), three times daily.
Adults and adolescents above 12 years: 1-2 mg, three times daily.
Although animal reproduction studies have shown an adverse effect on the fetus and there are no adequate and well-controlled studies in pregnant women, but during pregnancy, this medicine can be used just when definitely required despite potential risks.
Mothers with a newborn baby who have used this drug during the last 3 months of pregnancy may seldom create symptoms including drowsiness, muscle stiffness or shakiness, feeding or breathing troubles, constant crying. If you notice any of these symptoms of your baby's particularly during their first month, tell the doctor immediately.
This medicine passes into breast milk. Talk to your doctor before breastfeeding.
