Budesonide + Formoterol Fumarate Similar medicine
Treatment with a combination of budesonide and formoterol should not be started to treat a severe exacerbation or if the patient's asthma is considerably worsening or rapidly deteriorating. It can cause life-threatening paradoxical bronchospasm. When used in patients with cardiovascular illness, notably coronary insufficiency, cardiac arrhythmias, or hypertension, use with caution. Chronic use in patients with advanced age, osteoporosis, poor diet, sedentary lifestyles, or tobacco use may reduce bone mineral content even further. When taken in pediatric patients, it has the potential to slow down growth. Pregnancy and lactation should be avoided in individuals with active or dormant tuberculosis of the respiratory tract, untreated systemic fungal, bacterial, viral, or parasite diseases, or ocular herpes simplex.
Concurrent administration of budesonide with a CYP3A4 inhibitor, such as itraconazole, clarithromycin, or erythromycin, may inhibit budesonide metabolism. When used with nonpotassium-sparing diuretics, ECG abnormalities and/or hypokalaemia can occur.
Treatment for status asthmaticus and other acute asthma attacks. Budesonide, Formoterol, or Lactose hypersensitivity.
Budesonide is a corticosteroid that primarily acts as a glucocorticoid. It works by slowing down protein synthesis, reducing the migration of polymorphonuclear leucocytes/fibroblasts, and reversing capillary permeability to prevent and regulate inflammation. Formoterol fumarate is a 2-adrenergic agonist that is selective. Catalyzing the conversion of adenosine triphosphate to cyclic-3', 5'-adenosine monophosphate (cyclic AMP), promotes bronchodilation and bronchial smooth muscle relaxation.
