Vardenafil Similar medicine
Do not use vardenafil if you have certain conditions, such as:
- An abnormally shaped penis
- A higher risk of priapism (a long-lasting, painful erection), as seen in people with sickle cell anemia, multiple myeloma, or leukemia
- Bleeding problems or a current peptic ulcer
- Blockage in the heart’s left ventricle
- If you are elderly (over 65 years old)
Stop taking vardenafil and get medical help right away if you suddenly lose vision or have decreased vision in one or both eyes, or if you experience ringing in the ears, dizziness, or sudden hearing loss.
Vardenafil may cause dizziness or changes in vision, so do not drive or use heavy machinery until you know how it affects you. If your erection lasts longer than 4 hours, seek medical help immediately.
Do not use in people who have a long QT interval (from birth or caused by medicine), men who should avoid sex due to heart risks, those with very high or very low blood pressure (systolic over 170 mm Hg or diastolic over 110 mm Hg), anyone who recently had a stroke or heart attack (within the last 6 months), unstable chest pain, severe heart failure, serious kidney problems that need dialysis, severe liver problems, or degenerative eye disorders like retinitis pigmentosa. Do not use in women or children.
Vardenafil is a type of medicine called a phosphodiesterase type-5 inhibitor. It helps treat erectile dysfunction by raising the levels of a chemical in the body called cGMP.

Erectile dysfunction
Adult: Initially, 10 mg taken 60 minutes before sexual activity. Adjust subsequent doses according to response. Max: 20 mg as a single dose. Max frequency: Once daily. Sexual stimulation needed for response to therapy.
Elderly: ?65 yr: Initially 5 mg 60 minutes before sexual activity, increased to 10 mg then 20 mg if needed.
Renal impairment: Haemodialysis: Avoid.

Although animal reproduction studies have shown an adverse effect even sometimes unable to demonstrate the risk on the fetus and there are no adequate and well-controlled studies in pregnant women, but during pregnancy, this medicine can be used just when definitely required.
