Ciclesonide Similar medicine
Do not use Ciclesonide nasal spray if you have active or inactive tuberculosis (TB), or untreated fungal, bacterial, or viral infections, unless these are already being treated. People with severe liver problems should not use it. If children or teenagers are taking inhaled corticosteroids for a long time, their height should be checked regularly. If their growth slows down, the dose should be lowered. Ciclesonide nasal spray should be used carefully during pregnancy or breastfeeding.
Be careful when using Ciclesonide nasal spray if you have a current or past lung infection like TB, or untreated fungal, bacterial, viral, or herpes infections in the eyes. Rare side effects like holes in the nasal septum, cataracts, or glaucoma have happened. Sometimes, people have gotten fungal infections in the nose or throat (like Candida). Although side effects are usually rare with the recommended dose, using too much can increase the risk of problems. So, do not use more than the recommended amount of Ciclesonide nasal spray.
Ciclesonide levels in the body may increase if taken together with ketoconazole, itraconazole, ritonavir, nelfinavir, or other strong CYP3A4 inhibitors.
Do not use this for status asthmaticus or severe acute asthma that requires intensive treatment. Ciclesonide nasal spray should not be used by anyone who is allergic to any of its ingredients.
Ciclesonide is an inhaled corticosteroid. When it reaches the lungs, enzymes called esterases change it into its active form, desisobutyryl-ciclesonide, which helps reduce inflammation.
