Precautions and warnings
Lactation. May increase frequency and/or severity of angina during treatment initiation or dosage increments. Heart failure or hepatic impairment.

Drug Interactions
Amlodipine relaxes the smooth muscle of the peripheral and coronary arteries. During depolarization, it inhibits Ca ion entry into the slow channels or select voltage-sensitive channels of the vascular smooth muscle and heart, resulting in coronary vasodilation. In patients with vasospastic angina, it also improves myocardial oxygen delivery.
Contraindications
Liver insufficiency. Pregnancy.
Mode of actions

In patients with vasospastic angina, it also improves myocardial oxygen delivery.
Telmisartan is an angiotensin II receptor antagonist that is not a peptide. It works as an antihypertensive by preventing angiotensin II from binding to AT1 receptors, hence decreasing angiotensin II's vasoconstricting and aldosterone-secreting activities.
Dosage & Administration
Adult: PO Initiate with 5 mg/40 mg or 5mg/80 mg once daily.
May increase dose after at least 2 weeks, not to exceed 10 mg/80 mg once daily.
Dosage range: Amlodipine/Telmisartan 2.5-10 mg/ 20-80 mg once daily.
Pregnancy & Lactation
Although animal reproduction studies have shown an adverse effect on the fetus and there are no adequate and well-controlled studies in pregnant women, but during pregnancy, this medicine can be used just when definitely required despite potential risks.
Another study shows that this medicine is not allowed during pregnancy. Do not use it if you are pregnant. It can be absorbed through the skin and lungs caused can damage your unborn child’s organs and cause congenital disabilities. Strict effective birth control during treatment and for six months after stopping this medicine. If you do become pregnant, stop taking this medicine and discuss your doctor right away.
There is no specific information on whether this medicine passes into breast milk or not. Considering the possible risks for the children, breastfeeding while using this medicine is not recommended and at least two weeks after the last dose. Consult your doctor before breastfeeding.
