Neomycin Sulphate 0.4% + Polymixin B Sulphate + Pramoxine 1% Topical Similar medicine
Using this medication in large amounts or over large areas of the body for a long time can increase the risk of ear or kidney damage, as well as cause hormone problems.
Do not use if you are allergic to aminoglycosides or any of their ingredients. Avoid if you already have nerve-related hearing loss. Do not use for tuberculosis, fungal, or viral infections. If your eardrum is ruptured, do not apply this to the outer ear.
Neomycin works by stopping bacteria from making proteins, which it does by attaching to their 30S ribosomal subunits.
Polymyxin B kills bacteria by damaging their cell membranes, causing them to leak.
Pramoxine acts as a local anesthetic, numbing the area and reducing pain.
Adults and children 2 years of age and older:
clean the affected area
apply a small amount of this product (an amount equal to the surface area of the tip of a finger) on the area 1 to 3 times daily
may be covered with a sterile bandage
children under 2 years of age: consult a doctor
Although animal reproduction studies have shown an adverse effect on the fetus and there are no adequate and well-controlled studies in pregnant women, but during pregnancy, this medicine can be used just when definitely required despite potential risks.
Mothers with a newborn baby who have used this drug during the last 3 months of pregnancy may seldom create symptoms including drowsiness, muscle stiffness or shakiness, feeding or breathing troubles, constant crying. If you notice any of these symptoms of your baby's particularly during their first month, tell the doctor immediately.
This medicine passes into breast milk. Talk to your doctor before breastfeeding.
