Side-effects
- Gelegentlich Durchfall
- Schwindel und Hautausschläge. Selten Gynäkomastie.
Drug Interactions
Antazida können die Menge an Famotidin verringern, die Ihr Körper aufnimmt. Sie können auch die Konzentrationen von Ketoconazol und Itraconazol in Ihrem Blut senken.
Contraindications
Überempfindlichkeit.
Mode of actions
Famotidin blockiert die Bindung von Histamin an H2-Rezeptoren im Magen. Dies verringert die Menge an produzierter Magensäure, sowohl tagsüber und nachts als auch nach dem Essen. Es reduziert auch die Menge an Pepsin, einem Enzym, das bei der Verdauung von Nahrungsmitteln hilft, was zu einer geringeren Magen-Darm-Aktivität führt.
Dosage & Administration
Gutartige Magengeschwüre: 40 mg nachts für 4–8 Wochen. Erhaltungstherapie: 20 mg nachts.
Refluxösophagitis: 20–40 mg zweimal täglich für 6–12 Wochen.
Zollinger-Ellison-Syndrom: 20 mg alle 6 Stunden.
Pregnancy & Lactation
Obwohl tierexperimentelle Reproduktionsstudien eine nachteilige Wirkung gezeigt haben und manchmal sogar kein Risiko für den Fötus nachgewiesen werden konnte, und es keine ausreichenden und gut kontrollierten Studien bei schwangeren Frauen gibt, kann dieses Arzneimittel während der Schwangerschaft nur dann angewendet werden, wenn dies unbedingt erforderlich ist.
