Precautions and warnings

Tell your doctor if you have ever had asthma, aspirin-sensitive asthma, blood disorders such as anemia, bleeding or clotting issues, nose growths, heart disease, high blood pressure, liver illness, stroke, edema, bleeding, heartburn, or ulcers before using this drug.

NSAID drugs, such as naproxen, can cause kidney difficulties in certain people. If you're dehydrated, have heart failure or kidney illness, are an older adult or take certain medications, you're more likely to have problems. To avoid dehydration, drink plenty of fluids as advised by your doctor, and report any changes in the amount of urine to your doctor right away.

This medication may cause dizziness or drowsiness. You may become dizzy or sleepy if you consume alcohol or cannabis. Do not drive, operate machinery, or engage in any other activity that requires attentiveness until you are sure you can do so safely. If you use cannabis, talk to your doctor.

This medication has the potential to induce stomach bleeding. Consumption of alcohol and tobacco on a regular basis, particularly when coupled with this drug, may raise your risk of stomach bleeding. Limit your alcohol intake and quit smoking. Inquire with your doctor or pharmacist about the amount of alcohol you can consume safely.

This drug could make you more sun-sensitive. Spend as little time as possible in the sun. Sunlamps and tanning booths should be avoided. When you're outside, use sunscreen and wear protective gear. If you get sunburned or notice skin redness, call your doctor right away.

Drug Interactions

Aliskiren, ACE inhibitors such as captopril and lisinopril, angiotensin II receptor blockers such as losartan, valsartan, cidofovir, and corticosteroids are some of the products that may interact with this medicine.

When combined with other drugs that can cause bleeding, this medication can increase the risk of bleeding. Antiplatelet medications like clopidogrel, as well as "blood thinners" like dabigatran, enoxaparin, and warfarin, are examples.

Many prescription and nonprescription drugs contain pain relievers or fever reducers, so read all labels carefully (aspirin, NSAIDs such as celecoxib, ibuprofen, or ketorolac). These medicines are related to naproxen, and taking them together may raise your risk of negative effects. If your doctor has prescribed low-dose aspirin to prevent a heart attack or stroke (typically 81-162 milligrams per day), you should keep taking it unless your doctor tells you otherwise. The potential of aspirin to prevent heart attack and stroke may be reduced if naproxen is used on a regular basis. Discuss the risks and advantages with your doctor. Inquire about different pain-relieving or fever-reducing drugs.

Contraindications

Intolerance to the active component. Allergy to aspirin or nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs). In the case of CABG surgery, perioperative pain is common. Expectant motherhood (3rd trimester).

Mode of actions

A prototypical NSAID is a naproxen, a propionic acid derivative. It inhibits the cyclooxygenase-1 and -2 (COX-1 and -2) enzymes in a reversible manner, resulting in a reduction in prostaglandin precursor synthesis. It possesses anti-inflammatory, analgesic, and antipyretic properties, as well as inhibiting platelet aggregation.

Antacids, colestyramine, or sucralfate might cause delayed absorption. Blockers' antihypertensive effects may be interfered with (for example, propranolol). Along with probenecid, it's possible that serum levels will rise.
