Precautions and warnings
Bei Patienten mit Diabetes mellitus oder solchen, die sich einer Sympathektomie unterzogen haben, sollte die Anwendung mit Vorsicht erfolgen. Dieses Medikament kann Lupus (SLE) verschlimmern. Überprüfen Sie häufig den Kaliumspiegel im Blut. Achten Sie auf Symptome von Flüssigkeits- oder Elektrolytproblemen. Stoppen Sie die Einnahme dieses Arzneimittels vor allen Nebenschilddrüsentests. Es könnte Ihre Verkehrstüchtigkeit oder Ihre Fähigkeit zum Bedienen von Maschinen beeinträchtigen. Seien Sie besonders vorsichtig bei älteren Patienten.

Drug Interactions
Die Einnahme von Valsartan zusammen mit anderen Blutdruckmedikamenten kann die Wirkung verstärken. Wenn Sie Valsartan zusammen mit Kaliumpräparaten, kaliumsparenden Diuretika, kaliumhaltigen Salzersatzmitteln oder anderen Arzneimitteln einnehmen, die Einfluss auf Kalium haben (z. B. Heparin, Ciclosporin, bestimmte Antibabypillen, Amphotericin, Steroide oder Carbenoxolon), kann Ihr Kaliumspiegel zu hoch werden, sodass Sie ihn häufig überprüfen lassen sollten.
Die gleichzeitige Einnahme von NSAIDs (wie Ibuprofen oder Naproxen) mit Valsartan kann die blutdrucksenkende Wirkung beeinträchtigen und das Risiko von Nierenproblemen erhöhen. Valsartan kann auch die Fähigkeit Ihres Körpers verringern, einige Chemotherapeutika wie Cyclophosphamid oder Methotrexat auszuscheiden. Wenn Sie Vitamin D oder Kalziumpräparate einnehmen, kann es zu einem hohen Kalziumspiegel kommen.
**Erhebliche Risiken:**
Valsartan kann den Lithiumspiegel erhöhen, was gefährlich sein kann. Daher sollte Ihr Arzt Ihren Lithiumspiegel regelmäßig überprüfen, wenn Sie beide Arzneimittel einnehmen. Außerdem kann die Einnahme von Dofetilid das Risiko einer schweren Herzrhythmusstörung erhöhen. Sie sollten diese Arzneimittel daher nicht zusammen anwenden.
Contraindications
Verwenden Sie dieses Arzneimittel nicht, wenn Sie allergisch gegen Valsartan, Hydrochlorothiazid oder Sulfonamide sind. Es sollte auch nicht bei Personen mit schweren Leberproblemen oder sehr schlechter Nierenfunktion angewendet werden.
Mode of actions
Valsartan senkt den Blutdruck, indem es die Wirkung einer Chemikalie namens Angiotensin II blockiert, die normalerweise dazu führt, dass sich die Blutgefäße verengen und der Körper Salz und Wasser zurückhält. Hydrochlorothiazid ist ein Arzneimittel, das als Diuretikum oder „Wasserpille“ bezeichnet wird und Ihrem Körper dabei hilft, überschüssiges Wasser und Salz auszuscheiden.
Dosage & Administration
Erwachsener: PO: Anfänglich: 80/12,5 mg einmal täglich, bis zu 320/25 mg bei Bedarf.

Pregnancy & Lactation
Dieses Arzneimittel ist während der Schwangerschaft nicht erlaubt. Verwenden Sie es nicht, wenn Sie schwanger sind. Es kann über die Haut und die Lunge aufgenommen werden und die Organe Ihres ungeborenen Kindes schädigen und angeborene Behinderungen verursachen. Strenge wirksame Empfängnisverhütung während der Behandlung und für sechs Monate nach Absetzen dieses Arzneimittels. Wenn Sie schwanger werden, beenden Sie die Einnahme dieses Arzneimittels und sprechen Sie sofort mit Ihrem Arzt.
Es liegen keine spezifischen Informationen darüber vor, ob dieses Arzneimittel in die Muttermilch übergeht oder nicht. Angesichts der möglichen Risiken für die Kinder wird das Stillen während der Anwendung dieses Arzneimittels und mindestens zwei Wochen nach der letzten Dosis nicht empfohlen. Konsultieren Sie vor dem Stillen Ihren Arzt.
