Precautions and warnings
बच्चों, गर्भवती या स्तनपान कराने वाली महिलाओं को सावधानी बरतनी चाहिए। कैंसर या लीवर की समस्या वाले लोगों को भी सावधान रहना चाहिए। समुदाय-अधिग्रहित निमोनिया जैसे संक्रमण होने की अधिक संभावना है। यदि आपको लीवर की गंभीर समस्या है तो 20 मिलीग्राम से अधिक न लें।

- कब्ज हैं।
Drug Interactions
यह दवा डिगॉक्सिन के कारण होने वाले हृदय दुष्प्रभावों के जोखिम को बढ़ा सकती है। यह रक्त में मैग्नीशियम के स्तर को भी कम कर सकता है, खासकर जब मूत्रवर्धक के साथ लिया जाता है। यदि वारफारिन के साथ लिया जाए, तो यह आईएनआर और प्रोथ्रोम्बिन समय बढ़ा सकता है, जिससे रक्तस्राव की संभावना अधिक हो सकती है। यह शरीर में टैक्रोलिमस, सैक्विनवीर और मेथोट्रेक्सेट जैसी दवाओं के स्तर को बढ़ा सकता है। यह डायजेपाम जैसी CYP2C19 द्वारा विघटित दवाओं के निष्कासन को धीमा कर सकता है। इसके अलावा, यह केटोकोनाज़ोल, एर्लोटिनिब और आयरन सप्लीमेंट को कम प्रभावी बना सकता है।
**गंभीर प्रभाव:**
यह रिलपीविरिन, एटाज़ानवीर और नेलफिनवीर की मात्रा और प्रभाव को कम कर सकता है, और यह भी कम कर सकता है कि क्लोपिडोग्रेल रक्त के थक्कों को कितनी अच्छी तरह रोकता है।
Contraindications
एसोमेप्राज़ोल का उपयोग उन लोगों द्वारा नहीं किया जाना चाहिए जिन्हें इसके किसी भी घटक या प्रतिस्थापित बेंज़िमिडाज़ोल्स नामक समान दवाओं से एलर्जी है।
Mode of actions
एसोमेप्राज़ोल एक प्रकार की दवा है जिसे प्रोटॉन पंप अवरोधक (पीपीआई) कहा जाता है। यह पेट की परत में H+/K+ ATPase नामक एंजाइम को अवरुद्ध करके पेट में एसिड की मात्रा को कम करता है। एसोमेप्राज़ोल ओमेप्राज़ोल का एस-आइसोमर रूप है।
Dosage & Administration
IV: गैस्ट्रो-ओसोफेगल रिफ्लक्स रोग 20 या 40 मिलीग्राम प्रतिदिन एक बार 10 दिनों के लिए। जितनी जल्दी हो सके मौखिक चिकित्सा में परिवर्तित करें।
Pregnancy & Lactation
यद्यपि पशु प्रजनन अध्ययनों ने भ्रूण पर प्रतिकूल प्रभाव दिखाया है और गर्भवती महिलाओं में कोई पर्याप्त और अच्छी तरह से नियंत्रित अध्ययन नहीं हैं, लेकिन गर्भावस्था के दौरान, संभावित जोखिमों के बावजूद, इस दवा का उपयोग केवल तभी किया जा सकता है जब इसकी आवश्यकता हो।
जिन माताओं के नवजात शिशु हैं, जिन्होंने गर्भावस्था के आखिरी 3 महीनों के दौरान इस दवा का उपयोग किया है, उनमें शायद ही कभी उनींदापन, मांसपेशियों में अकड़न या कंपकंपी, दूध पीने या सांस लेने में परेशानी, लगातार रोना जैसे लक्षण पैदा हो सकते हैं। यदि आपको विशेष रूप से उनके पहले महीने के दौरान अपने बच्चे में इनमें से कोई भी लक्षण दिखाई देता है, तो तुरंत डॉक्टर को बताएं।
यह दवा स्तन के दूध में पारित हो जाती है। स्तनपान कराने से पहले अपने डॉक्टर से बात करें।
