Oral
Prophylaxis of migraine, Prophylaxis of cluster headache
Adult: 1.5 mg/day either in 3 divided doses or as a single dose at night. A gradual increase of 0.5 mg helps to avoid drowsiness. Max dose: 4.5 mg/day and 3 mg/dose.
Child: less than 2 yr: Up to 1.5 mg daily in divided doses. Max dose: 1 mg/dose.
Although animal reproduction studies have shown an adverse effect even sometimes unable to demonstrate the risk on the fetus and there are no adequate and well-controlled studies in pregnant women, but during pregnancy, this medicine can be used just when definitely required.
