Drug Interactions
El uso de gramicidina junto con framicetina reduce la posibilidad de que las bacterias se vuelvan resistentes.
Contraindications
No lo use si es alérgico a la lanolina o framicetina, o si la infección es causada por gérmenes resistentes a la framicetina.
Mode of actions
La framicetina es un antibiótico aminoglucósido y el ingrediente principal de la neomicina. Actúa contra muchos tipos de bacterias gramnegativas (excepto Pseudomonas) y algunos tipos de bacterias Staphylococcus. Se usa comúnmente como tratamiento tópico para infecciones de la piel, ojos y oídos, a menudo combinado con esteroides u otros antibióticos.
Dosage & Administration
Un apósito liviano de lanoparafina (lanolina anhidra al 10 %) y gasa blanca de parafina suave al 90 % impregnada con sulfato de framicetina al 1 % BP. Aplicar una sola capa sobre la lesión y cubrir con un apósito adecuado. Para heridas con exudado profuso, cambie el apósito una vez al día.
Pregnancy & Lactation
Aunque los estudios de reproducción en animales han demostrado un efecto adverso en el feto y no existen estudios adecuados y bien controlados en mujeres embarazadas, durante el embarazo este medicamento se puede utilizar sólo cuando sea definitivamente necesario a pesar de los riesgos potenciales.
Las madres con un bebé recién nacido que han usado este medicamento durante los últimos 3 meses de embarazo rara vez presentan síntomas que incluyen somnolencia, rigidez o temblores musculares, problemas para alimentarse o respirar, y llanto constante. Si nota alguno de estos síntomas en su bebé, especialmente durante el primer mes, informe al médico de inmediato.
Este medicamento pasa a la leche materna. Hable con su médico antes de amamantar.
