Drug Interactions
O uso de gramicidina junto com framicetina reduz a chance de as bactérias se tornarem resistentes.
Contraindications
Não use se você for alérgico à lanolina ou framicetina, ou se a infecção for causada por germes resistentes à framicetina.
Mode of actions
A framicetina é um antibiótico aminoglicosídeo e o principal ingrediente da neomicina. Funciona contra muitos tipos de bactérias gram-negativas (exceto Pseudomonas) e alguns tipos de bactérias Staphylococcus. É comumente usado como tratamento tópico para infecções de pele, olhos e ouvidos, geralmente combinado com esteróides ou outros antibióticos.
Dosage & Administration
Um curativo leve de lano-parafina (lanolina anidra 10%) e parafina branca macia 90% de gaze impregnada com 1% de sulfato de framicetina BP. Aplicar uma única camada sobre a lesão e cobrir com curativo adequado. Para feridas com exsudato abundante, troque o curativo uma vez ao dia.
Pregnancy & Lactation
Embora estudos de reprodução animal tenham demonstrado um efeito adverso no feto e não existam estudos adequados e bem controlados em mulheres grávidas, mas durante a gravidez, este medicamento pode ser utilizado apenas quando definitivamente necessário, apesar dos riscos potenciais.
As mães com um bebê recém-nascido que usaram este medicamento durante os últimos 3 meses de gravidez raramente podem apresentar sintomas incluindo sonolência, rigidez ou tremores musculares, problemas de alimentação ou respiração, choro constante. Se você notar algum destes sintomas em seu bebê, especialmente durante o primeiro mês, informe o médico imediatamente.
Este medicamento passa para o leite materno. Converse com seu médico antes de amamentar.
