Drug Interactions
Algunas drogas pueden aumentar la cantidad de medicamentos en la sangre al afectar las enzimas hepáticas. Los ejemplos incluyen azitromicina, cimetidina, eritromicina, fluoxetina y ketoconazol.
El uso de este medicamento con ciertos otros medicamentos puede aumentar el riesgo de efectos secundarios:
- El riesgo de presión arterial alta y latidos cardíacos irregulares es mayor si se toma con medicamentos cardíacos (como glucósidos cardíacos, quinidina o antidepresivos tricíclicos).
- Existe una mayor posibilidad de una fuerte constricción de vasos sanguíneos si se usa con alcaloides ergot o oxitocina.
- Tomar este medicamento con inhibidores de MAO (MAOI) puede causar un aumento peligroso de la presión arterial (crisis hipertensiva).
- Usarlo con ciertos anestésicos (como el ciclopropano, el halotano y otros anestésicos halogenados) o los medicamentos de presión arterial (antihipertensivos) pueden causar interacciones.
Mode of actions
La desloratadina es un medicamento de alergia duradero que no causa somnolencia. Funciona bloqueando los receptores H1 de histamina fuera del cerebro y evita que ciertas células inmunes liberen sustancias que causan inflamación.
La pseudoefedrina funciona activando receptores alfa y adrenérgicos. Hace que los vasos sanguíneos en la nariz se estrechen, lo que reduce la congestión. También relaja las vías respiratorias y puede aumentar la frecuencia cardíaca y la fuerza de los latidos.
Dosage & Administration
PO: adultos y adolescentes de 12 años o más: 1 tableta (2.5 mg de desloratadina/120 mg de pseudoefedrina) 12 por hora.
1 tableta (5 mg desloratadine/240 mg pseudoefedrina) 24 horas.
Pregnancy & Lactation
Aunque los estudios de reproducción de animales han demostrado un efecto adverso en el feto y no hay estudios adecuados y bien controlados en mujeres embarazadas, pero durante el embarazo, este medicamento puede usarse justo cuando definitivamente se requiere a pesar de los riesgos potenciales.
Las madres con un bebé recién nacido que han usado esta droga durante los últimos 3 meses de embarazo rara vez pueden crear síntomas que incluyen somnolencia, rigidez muscular o temblor, alimentación o problemas respiratorios, llanto constante. Si nota alguno de estos síntomas de su bebé, particularmente durante su primer mes, dígale al médico de inmediato.
Este medicamento pasa a la leche materna. Hable con su médico antes de amamantar.
